34 days to go...

My UK hen party

The girls decided to go with a yellow theme... I looked like a cross between  a Stepford wife and Big Bird!

THANK YOU!

I have to say a massive thank you to the staff and students of Lytchett Minster School, who have been incredibly generous this week!

I've had an absolutely fantastic year teaching and I think I've been really lucky to have worked with such great people.

Even my "naughtiest" of students - you know who you are (some of you have even mentioned how you might have been less than angelic at times!), have both impressed and amazed me this week.

I'm proud of you all - keep up the good work & continue to make your teachers laugh!!

And - if you're ever in Oz, get in touch!  Who knows, I might even be able to take you out scuba diving!

6 Weeks and counting

My last week of school is approaching, with less than 6 weeks now before we fly out of Heathrow.

I thought I should put some photos up of where I'm going to be living to begin with.  It's not quite the bush, but it's pretty rural. Ben's family own a farm/vineyard/restaurant in the Granite Belt of southern Queensland, so that's where we are starting our adventure.

The view above is pretty much the view I'll have from the bedroom window!  Not bad by all accounts...

Map of Southern Queensland

Stanthorpe is marked on the map - it's almost on the NSW border.

The countdown begins...

We're 7 weeks away from flying out to Australia!
